Frequently Asked Questions

What is the oil mix we use to maintain our equipment?
The mix is 50% Raw Linseed Oil and 50% Mineral Turpentine. Apply with a brush or cloth and always wash out the cloth with hot water and detergent when finished. If this is not done and the cloths are thrown away into the bin, spontaneous combustion may occur.
How strong are the swing ropes?
We use a 12 mm polypropylene rope which has a breaking force of 1.86 tonnes. (Very Strong) To prevent the surface from showing signs of abrasion if the ropes are twisted together we now provide, at small additional cost, a plastic sleeve to cover the full length of the rope, thus extending the life of the swing considerably.
How can I ensure safety when I put my P.M.P. Equipment together?
Always join pieces together with the screws and wing nuts provided. Extra screws and wing nuts are available if required. This is particularly important if you are attaching cubes or other equipment on top of each other. Also use the connecting rods for beams, planks and ladders with the screws and wing nuts. Ladders should be securely placed on A Frame Trestles by securing the birdmouth cut out while beams and planks should have Cleats attached.

Do not be afraid to drill extra ¼” holes in your cube faces if required for secure placement and attachment of components.

Also make sure there are plenty of gym safety mats on the floor around any elevated equipment. Of course the best safety is gained by the well trained adult supervision on each station.

How often should we oil our equipment?

To maintain the equipment in its best condition we recommend oiling it every three months or once and term. As a minimum the equipment should be oiled once a year. Oiling the equipment reduces splintering, reduces timber greying and assists with repelling water.

Can we leave our timber equipment outside in the weather all the time?

We recommend that timber equipment is either put away under cover, in a shed or storage room when not in use or at the end of each day. This will extend the life of the equipment and help to maintain the equipment in its best condition.

Can we get a replacement copy of the rules for the games or instructiosn for the  equipment?

Yes you can, we now provide the rules and instructions on our Product Information Sheets, these are available by simply making contact with us. We can now email them to you.
