January 2011: Change of Ownership for Three Plus Educational Equipment

At the start of January 2011 Murray Lang sold Three Plus Educational Equipment to Pat Southwell. This change of ownership will see the continuation of the Three Plus business providing quality products to Childcare, Kindergartens, Primary Schools, Aged Care and Special Needs for many years to come.

Murray started Three Plus in 1975 and for 35 years he has owned and managed the business so that today it is recognised in the market as a leader in providing quality, handmade and long lasting equipment and games. Murray himself is an industry expert in design and manufacture of equipment suitable for use in childhood, special needs and aged care development.

For the last few years Murray has been looking for someone suitable to continue the Three Plus business so he could retire.

Pat Southwell, after a 30 year career in finance and business management has taken over the business from Murray. Pat was an ex-employee of Three Plus from 30 years ago and his brother Andy worked for Three Plus for many years after.  Although having a career in finance Pat has maintained his love of making things from wood and has an excellent knowledge of the required business and manufacturing process.  “I have a great respect for what Murray has achieved with Three Plus and I want to continue this with maintaining and building on the great relationship with the customers and suppliers to deliver a quality and valued product that meets the customer’s needs and where I can see it being useful.”

Murray said, “I am extremely pleased to be passing the Three Plus business onto Pat, it feels like keeping it in the family. My wife Marie and I are simply thrilled that it is Pat taking over to continue what we started but also to breathe new life into it.”

Murray is still maintaining a contact with the new Three Plus to ensure that there is a seamless continuity of the past and encouragement of new ideas for the future.

Any orders and questions should be addressed to Pat Southwell.
